As I continued looking for fun characters on the Chicago site, I found Marvin. Because the photographs are organized by the 30 neighborhoods (actually, they say 30 but I could only see pictures from 28,) some characteristic patterns began to be apparent.
Although there are no reference items, such as a chair, doorway, other people, etc, the satchel or paper bag is somewhat uniform in size, no matter who is carrying it. If that is the case, Marvin is fairly small in stature. I wanted to be sure to accurately capture the clothing, as it appeared in his photograph, because it is important to the overall impression we have of him. Even the length of the coat sleeves and pant cuffs lend to the impression that Marvin in shorter than many men.
Others in Marvin's neighborhood of pictures appear to be in jobs related to law interpretation, enforcement or litigation, etc. There are officers in uniform, and men and women in suits, and "professional" attire. All pictures appear to be taken during one of the warmer months, and yet no one is carrying any of the top layers of clothing.
