Mini Book #1 - continued

The next two page spreads include a variety of techniques, including stamping with a purchased rubber stamp, block printing, stenciling, and Cricut cut outs.  Once again I have used the text block print to add lines and picked up the color from the back of the previous page spread to add continuity.  The rose-like flowers are purchased rubber stamps - I don't have many of those and probably won't be acquiring many
more! They sure are easy to use, and add a little pop of interest if they align with your theme.

The left hand image below looks like a photograph, but is actually two different block prints, freehand drawing and painting, and hand coloring.  If you have time, patience and persistence, it is amazing was images can be created. (The butterfly and the head of the daisy flower are the block prints.)

I am not very happy with the crayon-like butterflies, and won't be using bristol paper in this way again.  I am sorry to say that bristol paper is not very versatile or receptive to various mediums.  It was a good lesson to learn here instead of on a major piece of art I was trying to create  The one advantage of bristol is the weight; it is sturdy and adds form and shape in a positive way to this type of mini-book.
