I decided in the construction and review of this mini book that bristol paper is a great material for young children to use. It is durable for dry mediums, and stays stable for cutting and handling. It is NOT the paper for me! Each time I look at the hand painted block print of the monarch with two daisies AND the bleeding heart photograph, I think of how much more contrast and appeal each would have with a different background paper.
Comparing the page above and the page below provides a good opportunity to analyze the impact of freehand text versus text restricted to printed text lines.
